Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry

The Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry is an official food pantry, serving the needy in the 15217 zip code area, as well as those in the Greater Pittsburgh area who require kosher food. Those in need not only receive food, but are also connected with the supportive social and employment services they may need to get through difficult times and build independence. An outreach social worker provides information and referral, vocational and mental health counseling and case management. Volunteers play a critical role in conducting food drives, packaging food bags for client pick-up and delivering food to those who are unable to come to the Food Pantry. The Squirrel Hill Food Pantry is administered by Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Pittsburgh, a beneficiary agency of the United Jewish Federation and United Way, and operates in partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Foodbank.
