Federation is committed to ensuring that community members have a personal connection to Israel and a shared sense of Jewish peoplehood, both locally and globally. In addition, Federation is committed to addressing the social service needs of impoverished Jews around the world.
The Israel and World Jewry Commission seeks to join with other communities through the Federated system to support shared goals relating to Israel and overseas needs through core funding to two international organizations: the Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. IWJ Commission makes the funding recommendations for the Partnership2Gether Program (formerly Partnership 2000), self-directed overseas grants, and Israel scholarship programs.
