Shabbat Shalom - Friday, July 18, 2014

I begin to write this message on Thursday night. Several hours ago, Israel began her ground offensive to try to destroy the network of tunnels used by Hamas to transport weapons into the Gaza Strip and to try to launch attacks against Israelis. My thoughts and prayers go to all the Israeli soldiers who are being put in harm’s way.

Shabbat Shalom - Friday, July 11, 2014

I’ve been really busy this week.  I returned from an extended vacation on Tuesday to a pile of mail and emails.  I had tons of phone calls to return.  There were administrative matters at the Federation that required my attention.  I could easily complain about all the stresses in my life.

I saw people from the South Hills, the east, the North Hills, and from the city. I saw 84- year-olds and teens. And they learned together.
