I am so proud to be part of this community. The Community Wide Tikkun Leil Shavuot (evening of study) on Wednesday night, 10 p.m.– 1 a.m., at the JCC in Squirrel Hill, was fabulous. This Agency for Jewish Learning program -- in collaboration with the JCC, the Federation, The Jewish Chronicle,
and with the amazing partnership of many of our community’s synagogues -- was inspiring. While I truly enjoyed the classes I attended (and I thank all those who taught), I relearned the fact that the word community
contains the word unity.
I saw members of Orthodox, Reform, and Conservative synagogues. I saw people who do not belong to a synagogue. I saw people from the South Hills, the east, the North Hills, and from the city. I saw 84- year-olds and teens. And they learned together.Continue Reading...
