A Study in Contrasts

A post from Ellen - June 25, 2012

In the Jewish tradition, we have many instances when we go from the heights of joy to the depths of despair, or vice versa. We have the Fast of Esther, immediately followed by Purim. We have Rosh Hashana, immediately followed by a fast day commemorating the destruction of Jerusalem. The Defenders

A post from Mike - June 26, 2012

After a morning in which we visited the Jewish Agency for Israel’s Jafi Net@ site in Ramle, a site devoted to providing education in computer technology to high school aged disadvantaged youth regardless of their background (Jewish, Arab, or Christian), we journeyed to Tel Aviv for an evening at a base of the Israel Defense Force, and what an evening it was.

We Must Never Forget

a post from Mike - June 24, 2012

Today was not the Sabbath, but for me it was a day of deep reflection, meditation, and prayer.

We started the day at Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Museum. What can I say?

Six million Jews died at the hands of Hitler and his Nazi murderers. Six million.

Do you know how many that is?
