Carol Leifer
Winner of the 2012 Writers Guild Award for Modern Family and writer for Seinfeld & Saturday Night Live

Carol Leifer can light up a room, lighten up any event, and enlighten an audience. Her smart comedy made her a pioneer as a woman on the stand-up comedy scene, and later as a writer on Saturday Night Live. She went on to write and produce Seinfeld and The Larry Sanders Show, and in February, she won a 2012 Writer’s Guild Award for her work on Modern Family.

Her characteristic wit makes her one of the most in-demand writer-producers in the business and she is a favorite guest on shows including The View, Late Show with David Letterman, Fresh Air with Terry Gross, and Real Time with Bill Maher. You can catch Carol opening for Jerry Seinfeld throughout his 2012 comedy tour.

Leifer is the author of When You Lie About Your Age, The Terrorists Win, which was endorsed by the Jewish Book Council. In her book and in her speeches, among other things, she reminisces about the rediscovery of her Jewish identity and her Bat Mitzvah as an over-forty adult!
