Snowbird Events

Recognition events are held in February and March annually in Boca Raton, Long Boat Key and Naples, Florida to acknowledge donors to the Jewish Federation's annual campaign and the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh Foundation.  Pittsburghers vacationing in Florida for the winter and transplanted Pittsburghers are invited to reconnect with their friends and to receive an update on the activities of the Federation and the Foundation.

Boca Raton Snowbird Superbowl Event:

Each year on Superbowl Sunday a group of 120-200 Snowbirds convene at a local country club for cocktails and dinner followed by the Superbowl on the large screen.  In attendance are community leaders and major donors who contribute more than 20% of the Jewish Federation annual campaign.

Longboat Key and Naples Event:

Approximately 75-90 people from Longboat Key, Sarasota, Siesta Key, Naples, Bonita Springs, Sanibel and Marco Islands attend each of these annual events featuring a keynote speaker about current events in the Jewish community at a local venue.  Previous events have been held at the Longboat Key Club, the Water Club and private homes.  Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres are served followed by dessert and discussion.  The format is flexible and the Chairs of the event have the option to make changes.  The invited guests include major contributors to the annual campaign and fund holders.
